The National Oil Spill Contingency Plan (NOSCP) is one of the foundations for an effective and sustainable oil spill preparedness and response framework. The workshop, to be coordinated by RAC/REMPEITC-Caribe, aims to assist in the review and finalization of the NOSCP in Nicaragua which is currently in draft form, yet to be approved. In collaboration with key government agencies and stakeholders involved in responding to oil pollution incidents, the workshop will also aim to clarify roles and responsibilities during the response to an oil spills and develop an action plan to facilitate the development of an effective national oil spill preparedness and response framework.
